Counselling Services in School
I started work at Cedar Hall in 2004 as a Learning Support Assistant. Under the guidance of the school's previous counsellor, and with Mr Whelan's support, I trained as a counsellor and completed the AQA Advanced Diploma in Counselling in 2009.
I counsel adults and children. Working with adults I use Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Person Centred Therapy. Both are approaches which deal in the here and now, without ignoring the past.
However with children and young people I use a variety of methods; sometimes we play board games, other times we use play dough or soft animals. I feel the pastoral support for children and adults at Cedar Hall School is of the utmost importance and aim to reach as many vulnerable individuals as possible.
If you would like to speak with me in confidence please telephone the school on 01268 774723 to make an appointment.
